Where to find the time?

As a mother of three, a full time student and a virtual single parent until my husband comes home on Friday's after being on the road all week, I have to be very creative when it comes to finding the time to stamp. Since I am a big believer in handmade gifts and cards, you will find me up at all hours of the night when I have a time crunch or my favorite is setting aside the time to break up the card making into different parts. I have made all of our Christmas cards and the kids birthday invitations and our wedding invitations. These are no small tasks. I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to making something so I will re-do one if it is not up to my standards. When making the Christmas cards and wedding invitations, I had to set one evening aside for cutting and scoring all of the paper, one evening to stamping, one evening to adding the layers and one evening for adding in color or other embellishments. This seemed to be the best policy for me when making a lot that needed to be mailed all at the same time. When I do make a card for someone, I ususally make two of them and add them to my portfolio so that when I need to make another card I have a template to use and that also cuts down on my preparation time. Since I have a toddler who seems to want to run the show, I have to squeeze in time whenever the little rascal takes a nap or goes down for the evening. I have also found that if all of my supplies are organized it will not take as lond for me to finish a project. I may be a perfectionist when it comes to the final project but I am a very disorganized person and have to work very hard at keeping my project area organized so that it makes it that much more fun and relaxing for me.
