Creative Block?

I think that many of us run into a creative block and so I have decided to offer a few tips in getting through the block. I have close to 200 stamp sets and all the accessories and crafty person could possibly want. Yes, I have a shopping problem... Anyway, it seems to be overwhelming to me at times with all of the options and not knowing where to start. So for all you stampers out there, always remember the Splitcoast stampers website. If you are purchasing your stamps for various companies, especially Stampin' Up! products, you can type in the name of a particular stamp set and they will show you hundreds of ideas that members have sent in. Their gallery is a wonderful tool to use. There are also many magazines that you can buy relating to stamping and scrapbooking that are handy to keep around. I know that I have ideas of what I want to do or to modify something I have seen, but for some reason I come up with a blank memory. I keep all of my stamping catalogs and use them as a reference point to make something. I also think they are good for learning techniques or to take a little refresher course on one that I have not done in awhile. I have also noticed that once I have used a stamp set I am not likely to use it until I see something someone else has made and then the creative juices seem to flow faster than I can make the project. I also like to print of different ideas that I can later refer to if I don't have the time at the moment and then I can take them out when I do have the time. Some of us are visual learners and so the printing out of an idea really helps. And by printing, I do not mean stealing an idea, I mean sketching out your idea so that you remember later... I keep a folder of my ideas and like to set aside one day every other month where it is my time and then I can go stamp crazy... This does not happen as often as I like but that is just because of my crazy life... Yes I chose my life and added the stress of going back to school full time, but if I can do it, anyone can!
