So as I said in an earlier post, my toddler is sitting calmy watching Over the Hedge with his dad. I love moments like these because I can focus on what I need to do for school and getting ready to return from spring break. So anyway, I received a new issue from my Stampin' Up! stampin' success catalog while on Spring Break. There is an article on "working metal magic". It is basically a guide on how to make faux metal pieces for stamping projects. This sounds like a fun technique to try out. I can't wait to demonstrate it at the next monthly club meeting. This particular technique will add a number of options when making a project. All you need is some blank cardstock, VersaMark, embossing powder and a heat tool.
Step 1
Apply VersaMark over the desired cardstock.
Step 2
Sprinkle embossing powder over the carsdtock.
Step 3
Melt the embossing powder. Add more powder while the image is still hot and reheat. This can be done up to three times.
Step 4
Press stamp into the warm embossed cardstock to create the stamped image. Cut or punch out and you are ready to add to your project.
So this new technique is really quite simple to do and adds a whole new look to your artwork!
