Two step stampin'

Two step stamping is a technique that is simple yet frustrating. This is when two stamps are used. One as the outline and the other as a "filler". As you can see in the image to the left on the grape section a lighter color is used first in the background and then a darker color with about the same pattern, The vines are a little different. The pattern for the vine is done in a darker shade of old olive and the leaves are stamped with the same color only they have been stamped on scratch paper before being added to the vine.
The next picture may be a little easier to see the distinction of the two step stamping technique. The outline is done with Bravo burgundy and so is the filler. I stamped the filler on scratch paper before stamping onto the card.
Don't worry if the images don't line up exactly, this is what makes each project unique. It also gets easier to do with more practice.
