Accessory Definitions

-For those of you who are just beginning to stamp, here is a guide to some of the wonderful accessories out there to help embellish all your projects.

Punches
These are handheld and are offered in a variety of sizes and shapes. These include circles, squares, slots, ovals, tags, and countless others. You can view these on Stampin' Up's webpage in the online catalog pages 220-221.

The Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist cleaner and refills
The stampin scrub is a wonderful tool to clean your stamps. One side is the wet side and the other the dry. Spray the Stampin' mist cleaner on the wet side, scrub off ink, and dry on the other side.

Stamping Sponges
Stamping sponges are a great thing for adding uumph to your project. Using these can fill in the blank spaces and add depth to your project.

The Brayer
The brayer is used for special effects on the background. This works well with the kaleidoscope spectrum ink pads. It can be cleaned on the stampin' scrub as well.

The Bone Folder
This is used to aid in creases and to make crisp folds.

The Crimper
This can be used to crimp paper or wire for your projects.

The Color Spritzer Tool
What a great idea this was! This is used with the Stampin' Write markers. Squeeze the top and it sprays tiny little dots over the desired area for a background effect.

Hobby Blade
The hobby blade is convenient when cutting out pictures. Makes for a much better cut.

The Tearing Edge
This is a tool used for making those torn pages look broken without tearing where you don't want it to tear.

The Coluzzle
This is used for cutting circles and oval shapes out in the middle of a page without having to fold the page to cut. Great for transparencies and cardstock.

Spectrum Pads
These are stamp pads that have five colors on each one. The brayer works great with these.

VersaMark
This is a clear ink used with embossing powder. Using as a regular stamp pad, stamp image on page, cover with embossing powder, dry powder using a heat tool.

StazOn
This is a quick drying permanent ink. It comes in black, brown and white.

Aqua Painters
This pen is used for watercoloring and tearing mulberry paper. Just fill reservoir with water.

Blender Pens
These are used with watercolor pencils and stampin' pastels to blend color. They can also be used with regular ink to have a watercolor effect.

Watercolor pencils
These are just what they say. They look like colored pencils, but when used with the blender pen or aqua painter they show a watercolor effect.

Two way glue pen
This adhesive is temporary or permanent. If it is used when dry to adhere it is temporary, but when used when wet will be permanent.

Liquid glue
This is used for small or large areas to be covered. Works well with ribbon or thinly sliced cardstock.

Snail adhesive/mono tape
This is a double-sided tape that is used for many purposes. It is clear so when adhering vellum paper it will not show as glue would.

Stampin' Dimensionals
These are small double sided thick stickers to use as an effect for making a piece of your project sick out.

Glue Dots/Mini Glue Dots
These are a very sticky adhesive for three dimensional accents on projects. These are great because they do not require drying time and are safe for all ages.

Crystal Effects
This is a very sticky and time consuming product but the end result is well worth the wait! After stamping image, lightly coat with crystal effects and wait for it to dry. The end product is like a puffy pain feel. Dries clear!

Greeting Glue
This is used when making your own envelopes. It is the glue that will seal the envelope. Run glue over one side of the envelope and wait for it to dry. Once dry it can be sealed with water.

Embossing Powder
This is a powder that comes in many colors and is used for a three dimensional effect. Use with VersaMark and Heat Tool.

Heat Tool
Heat set pigment ink. Hold about 2 inches from the paper so you do not burn the paper.

Eyelets
Small metal pieces in a variety of colors that are used for embellishing. They have a small hole in the center.

Brads
Small metal pieces in a variety of colors. Push through a punched hole and separate prongs to lay flat.

Linen Thread/Hemp Twine
Just what the name says. Thread made out of linen or hemp, used for embellishing.

Magic Mesh
This product looks like drywall mesh. Comes is several colors.
